Mixing: The powdered materials are mixed in precise proportions. 4. Heating (Clinkering): The mixture is heated to extremely high temperatures (around 1450°C) in a rotary kiln, forming small, hard nodules called "clinker." 5. Cooling and Grinding: The clinker is cooled and then ground into a fine powder, with a small amount of gypsum added to control the setting time. 6. Packaging and Distribution: The final cement powder is packaged and distributed for use.

This process requires significant energy consumption, making cement production a contributor to carbon emissions.
